Morristown Plans Activities Around Wagon Train
JUNE 3 & 4, 2017

Horses and wagons and classic cars will descend on Morristown Saturday and Sunday, June 3-4, when the village welcomes the 2017 National Pike Wagon Train.

The Wagon Train, sponsored by the Belmont County Tourism Council, returns each year to the National Road community for an overnight visit. This year, the wagons and outriders will arrive around 5 p.m. on June 3, stopping at The Pike 40 Restaurant on the outskirts of Morristown before traveling on to the Black Horse Inn where the teams will be unhitched and spend the night. A home-cooked meal will be served to the wagon train participants by local residents.

All are welcome to come out to see the horses and wagons, meet the participants, and enjoy live music by Deep Down Country Band from 7 to 10 p.m. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy music under the stars.

Horses and wagons will be replaced by classic cars and trucks when the Egypt Valley Car Club hosts a Cruise-in on Main Street Sunday, June 4th from 12 noon until 4 p.m. The first 50 cars to show up will receive a dash plaque and all car owners will be entered to win a variety of door prizes. There is no fee to participate and vehicles of all makes and models are wanted.

The National Road Yard Sale takes place that same weekend, June 2-4, 2017.

The National Pike Wagon Train activities are coordinated in the village by the Morristown Historic Preservation Association.
