1984-2009

  • Restoration of National Road Remnant - partnership with Belmont Technical College and funded by a grant from Belmont County Tourism Council (2008)
     
  • Restored National Road Cottage — partnership with Building Preservation and Restoration program at Belmont Technical College (2007)
     
  • Sponsored Christmas Home Tours, Garden Tours, Morristown Bicentennial (2002) and National Road Bicentennial (2006)
     
  • Acquired and funded bronze Ohio Historical Marker during Ohio Bicentennial (2003)
     
  • Received Ohio Historical Society Public Education and Awareness Awards (1991 and 2003)
     
  • Provided funding/manpower to refurbish interior of Town Hall and replacement of front windows
     
  • Spearheaded effort/ acquired CDBG money to replace designated village sidewalks (1991)
     
  • Funded sign and picket fence at Pioneer Cemetery; provide ongoing maintenance/upkeep
     
  • Own and maintain gazebo park where picnics, concerts, and community activities are held
     
  • Developed Morristown Walking Tour Brochure
     
  • Developed and funded Morristown website www.morristownohio.org
     
  • Created Morristown Miniature Series of homes
     
  • MHPA members volunteered time and materials to paint homes in village (1990)
     
  • Partnered with Ohio Dept. of Transportation in Adopt-A-Highway program
     
  • Sponsored two Haunted Houses, in cooperation with Belmont Technical College, at the Swaney House,
     
  • Coordinated National Pike Festivals in Morristown including highly-successful 50th Anniversary of the End of World War II (1995)
     
  • Sponsored first and only Hot Air Balloon Festivals in Belmont County
     
  • Partnered with local McDonald’s Restaurant and created display of historic photographs in dining area
